happy?/ 2:39 PM what comes to your mind when you read the following: "but why is it so hard? is the pursuit of happiness making me miserable instead?" i just came across this newspaper article and it kinda applies. plus considering what has been happening to me for the past few days. i really neeeda reflect and start concentrating on myself. so i wanna quote some words from the author of the article of I so want to be happy in the sunday times page 11. (in case you wanna go and read) and i wanna say i usually dont read the newspaper unless i am forced to or have nothing to do at all. but i can say i got lucky today. - "when a dream comes true, you dont always get the happiness you thought would come with it; happiness is not something you can feel every moment of the day; happiness comes in small doses, so just be grateful for that; it's pointless to wish for a big happiness because it wont happen; perhaps happiness is overated." "happiness is subjected to the law of diminishing returns - to attain something you wish for does make you happy, but only up to a point beyond that, more and more of that things adds less and less to your happiness." "the trick perhaps is to learn to live for the moment and appreciate what you have" - so maybe when you are searching aimlessly and chasing for happiness it might just be infront of you, staring at you. and maybe because of constantly searching for happiness is the reason as to why you're always find yourself being unhappy. -sowhatareyouwaitingfornow- |
